Bar Harbor successfully converts streetlights to LED
RealTerm Energy is proud to be working with the Town of Bar Harbor, ME. The installation of energy efficient LED lights for the town’s 501 streetlights has been completed to include new smart controls. The conversion to LED street lights will generate 65% in energy savings and reduced greenhouse gas emissions within the first year. This upgrade will reduce the town’s streetlight operating expenditures by 68% with projected savings of more than $900,000 over the 20-year expected life of the LED fixtures.
Our team of lighting experts worked with the town to select streetlights that minimize “sky glow” and complied with the International Dark-skies Association (IDA) recommendations, which should be well received at the annual Acadia Night Sky Festival.
