Mechanic Falls, ME (October 31, 2022) – Earlier this year, the Town of Mechanic Falls, Maine partnered with RealTerm Energy, a North American leader in LED street-lighting conversions for municipalities, to upgrade 102 high-cost HPS streetlights to energy-efficient LEDs. This streetlight upgrade will lower the Town’s energy consumption from 60,000 kWhs to 16,000 kWhs and reduce expenditures by 73% annually. Over the next 20-year period, the Town will generate a total of $335,693 in project cost savings.
RealTerm Energy (RTE) is thrilled to continue working with Mechanic Falls to provide a comprehensive streetlight maintenance solution. RTE’s maintenance program ensures the Town’s new streetlights remain in the best condition while streamlining routine and unscheduled maintenance needs. According to the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE), streetlight infrastructure is often one of the biggest energy expenses and one of the most widespread, visible services the local government provides.
Mechanic Falls will have exclusive access to RTE’s integrated maintenance platform which simplifies reporting and real-time tracking of all streetlight outages in one interactive dashboard. As part of the maintenance program, RTE guarantees timely electrical contractor dispatch including all activity tracking and logging, and ensures that all repairs are completed within 5 to 10 days of notification. The best part? RTE’s mapping software provides real-time geolocation of repair work that can be easily shared and accessible by desktop or smartphone.
